Penny and Lauren are truly eating their way through the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. The huge national show for Bakeries, Restaurants and eateries is being held in San Francisco. The mother and daughter are having a great time. Penny says the weather is not perfect. It’s a little drizzly outside but inside is overwhelming. They spent most of Sunday going through the booths. Ofcourse there is increidble food everywhere. Unfortunatley, they ate a big breakfast before going to the show. I should have warned them —-go very hungry! They are looking for the latest, greatest and upcoming future craze. If you can believe it, when they left the show last night they were going to find an In and Out Burger (fast food that’s popular in Arizona, California and a few other places).
Meanwhile, back at Black Hills Bagels we’re busy with out own francy food. Have you tried or Lemon Poppy or Blueberry Muffins. Although I always recommend a bagel, these Muffins are a great change of pace. We bake them each morning right after the bagels!
We open at 6 !!!!!

I love Winter and I love the January thaw! We have had a great week! The dog has been walked several times. Actually Hamlet has to be walked even if its 20 below! He is a Yellow Lab and at 5 still has the attitude of a puppy.
Penny and Lauren are on their way to the Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. So look for Penny’s comments as she and her daughter eat their way through that national show. I understand Bobby Flay from Food Network will be there.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the airmen and their families as 300 deploy today. Come home safely!!!!
The pictures of Haiti are a grim reminder of how precious life is. God speed to those people. I noticed that Lamar has several digital billboards helping the Red Cross gather funds to send to Hait. Thanks Lamar and thanks Red Cross!

At 5 am this morning it was warmer than the combined temperature of the first three days of this week! Oh, Happy Day! Stop in to Black Hills Bagels today after you print off today’s special. It’s a great way to end the week and contemplate the next week which is expected to be great. We are working on our new software (I told Jack we didn’t need new software) but alas, here we are trying to get through. Actually it’s not too bad. A few quirks here and there. Have you had to upgrade or change software at your office? Let me know ow it worked out. Blog back by January 17th. You might win something!!!

Happy January in South Dakota!
I sure am glad I live in South Dakota and not Florida right now – They are dipping into freezing temps down there! We’re way beyond that – it’s suppose to be 45 below windchill factor today. The good news is that a HOT Mocha made with our own Dark Canyon espresso and ghiradelli chocolate is just what Old Man Winter asked for this morning as he was blowing through the Black Hills. While I’m at it, he asked for a Toasted White Chocolate Chip Bagel shmeared with our famous Brown Sugar Cinnamon cream cheese. Everything made to order, no preservatives or additives, trans fats or anything negative. Just good, heart healthy, delicious food. Stay warm today.
